An 18-year-old teen was caught drink driving in Salisbury with a car he'd taken without permission.

On September 15, 2021, Ewan Court, of Meliden, Denbighshire in Wales was caught drink driving a Honda Jazz Index on the A338 at Cholderton, Salisbury.

There were 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of Court's breath.

He had taken the car without permission and whilst driving it, he caused damage of less than £5,000 to a grass verge.

Court pleaded guilty and was convicted of driving whilst his alcohol level was above the limit and aggravated vehicle taking at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on December 17, 2021.

Court was sentenced on January 31 and fined £100 for drink driving as well as an additional £95 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The total to be paid by February 28 is £280.

Court was also disqualified from driving for 12 months and his driving record was endorsed.

The disqualification can be reduced by 91 days if he completes an officially approved course by July.

For aggravated vehicle taking Court was given a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement which he must comply with before April 30, 2023 and was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.
