Did you know that from today 16 and 17 year olds can book a booster jab?

The Covid booster programme has been extended to the age group in the latest phase of the vaccine roll-out in line with new data.

In wake of this change, Salisbury City Hall urge all 16 to 17 year olds to get their vaccine and booster.

Walk-in appointments are available every day this week, including Saturday and Sunday, between 9am and 7.30pm.

Doses of both Pfizer and Moderna are available, according to the NHS Website.

The vaccine site said they may close if lines become too long.

Salisbury City Hall Vaccination Centre Director Fiona Hyett said: "As of today 16 and 17-year-olds are able to get a COVID-19 booster vaccine at Salisbury City Hall.

"The great news is they can either simply walk-up to the centre and get the jab or book via the National Booking Service.

“Getting the COVID-19 booster remains the most effective way to reduce the chance of being seriously ill from infection or transmitting the infection to other people, some of whom may be very vulnerable.

“Please remember it is never too late to have the first or second dose, the team at the City Hall are ready and waiting.

"The staff are happy to answer any questions.”

Previously, third jabs were only recommended for clinically vulnerable people in this age group who are most at risk from Covid-19.

Now anyone aged between 16 to 17 can now book or get a walk-in booster jab.
