The Covid case rate across Wiltshire has increased, with the amount of cases on the rise. 

Covid cases increased by 33.8% in Wiltshire in the latest Public Health England data for the seven days leading up to December 26.

During this period the number of cases in the county stood at 4733. 

The seven day case rate in Wiltshire was recorded as 939.0, which is lower than the UK average case rate, 1,253.8, for this same period. 

On the UK Coronavirus Dashboard, it is possible to see the case rates for this period visually across the country with Wiltshire represented in the second highest category, 800 – 1599 (dark purple). 

Between December 28 and December 31, 2933 new Covid cases were recorded in Wiltshire bringing the total cases in the county since the pandemic started to 79,724. 

Latest Covid figures for Wiltshire areas

Covid cases went up in 55 out of the 62 Middle Super Output Areas in Wiltshire, in the seven days leading up to December 26.

Chippenham West recorded the highest amount of new Covid cases at 56 during this period, and Tidworth & Ludgershall recorded the highest total cases at 208 for this period. 

The area with the highest Covid rate, which takes into account the population size of an area in regard to the amount of cases, was Chippenham North with a case rate of 1409.9. 

This is higher than the UK average case rate of 1,253.8 for the same period.
