A COVID-19 infection has caused a man in his 70s to die at Salisbury District Hospital.
This brings the total number of patients that have died at the hospital, after testing positive for the virus, to 232, since the start of the pandemic.
A spokesperson for Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are sorry to report that on Thursday, December 23, a man in his 70s passed away due to Covid-19 infection.
"Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time."
There are currently 14 Covid-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.
The trust is also urging the public to continue supporting the vaccine roll out and to "remain cautious and take appropriate precautions to avoid transmission".
This includes wearing a mask in crowds and good hand hygeine.
"People should take up the invitation for a Covid-19 vaccine when offered," the spokesperson said.
"It is never too late to get a first vaccine. Covid-19 booster vaccinations are also available for those who are eligible.”
