THE ACCELERATION of the Covid-19 booster jab rollout has become a key talking point across the UK, with most people aged over 18 now eligible for a third vaccination.
This comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced at the weekend that "we’re facing an emergency”, in light of the latest Omicron variant and rising cases.
Salisbury's Covid-19 vaccination hub was busy this morning, December 14, with residents booked in for either their first dose, second dose, or a booster.
Queues had built throughout the morning, meaning some of those waiting to get vaccinated were joining the line near the back of the Playhouse building and central car park.
Yesterday, December 13, a spokesperson from Salisbury NHS Trust said the team is "urgently" looking at ways to increase the centre's capacity, as "many factors" need to be considered.
They added that the centre is currently working at "full capacity", meaning no appointments are showing on the National Booking System at present.

"If someone is unable to book when they try we would urge them to keep trying as more slots are being added all the time and there are cancellations," the spokesperson said.
"At the moment using the booking system remains the best way to get vaccinated.
"Vaccination remains the most effective means to protect yourself, your family and the whole community.
"Please take up the offer when it's made and get boosted."
Health and care leaders in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire, along with frontline vaccination teams, have said they are "stepping up efforts" to offer all eligible adults over the age of 18 Covid-19 booster vaccines before December 31.
They have said existing vaccination sites in the region will begin extending their opening hours and new vaccine venues will also be looked at to "help ensure up to 18,000 jabs can be given locally each day over the coming weeks".
