Our live feed has now finished.
- Good morning,
- Today we will be keeping you up to date with the latest developments on booster vaccines, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced yesterday, December 12, that "we’re now facing an emergency”.
- From today, 13 December, people over the age of 18 who have had a second dose of a Covid vaccine at least three months ago can book a Covid booster.
- A booster is an extra dose of vaccine which protects individuals from Covid for longer.
- Over-30s are already able to book their vaccine online through the national NHS booking system.
- Over-18s who have just become eligible will be able to book their booster online from Wednesday, but can get a booster at a walk-in centre from today.
