One resident filmed the train as it passed through Winterbourne before stopping in Salisbury.
Winterbourne Earls resident Richard Jones caught the train at the Lower Winterbourne (Summerling) Overline Bridge, between Grateley and Laverstock North Jn.
Here is his video:
He said: "Hello from Richard in Lower Winterbourne, the bridge on Summerling.
"Saw the train. Fabulous.
"I waited over 30 minutes in the cold and rain in case it went past early.
"But it was worth it and I was simply thrilled and amazed at how fast it was travelling."
