A number of driving offences committed on Salisbury roads were heard by magistrates in the past few months 

It can be expensive to commit a driving offence, with fines between £70 and £860 issued for these cases heard in magistrates' courts between October and November.

FENTON STUART THOMAS CULLEY, 21, of Sandpiper Close, Poole, was convicted of driving a Yamaha vehicle on the A345 in Longhenge, Salisbury, on April 15, 2021, without a licence needed for that vehicle, third party insurance, or a valid test certificate. The verdict was proved in his absence on November 16, 2021 at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court. Culley was fined £660, with £860 to pay in total including extra costs by December 12, 2021. He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for six months. 

AIDEN FITZGERALD, 40, of Teville Road, Worthing, admitted breaching a restraining order and pleaded guilty to driving an Audi TT without the correct licence and without third party insurance on the A360, Salisbury Road, on April 11, 2020. He was fined £160 in total on November 22 this year at Crawley Magistrates’ Court and his driving record was endorsed with 6 points. 

LEE KEVIN MARTIN JONES, 38, of Endless Street, Salisbury, was convicted of driving a Ford Fiesta on Devizes Road in Salisbury on October 27, 2021, without the correct licence or third party insurance. He pleaded guilty on November 19 at Salisbury Magistrates Court and was fined £160 in total, which came to £279 with extra costs to be paid by December 16. He has been disqualified from holding or obtaining a license for 18 months. 

JONATHAN MASSA, 43, of Avon Meadows, Middle Woodford, Wiltshire, was convicted of driving a Mercedes CLK on Churchill Way West in Salisbury on October 27, 2020, without the correct license and without third party insurance. He pleaded not guilty but a guilty verdict was given in his absence at Swindon Magistrates Court on October 19, 2021. He was fined £326, bringing the total to pay including court costs to £450, and his driving license was endorsed with 6 points. 

DESMOND JAMES CRODDEN, 63, of Castle Well Road, Old Sarum, was convicted of driving a Volkswagen Golf on Old Castle Road in Salisbury without the correct license. He pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on October 10, 2021, and was fined £70. His driving record was endorsed with 3 points.
