Traffic queues are currently building on the A31 after a Heavy Goods Vehicle struck a bridge and turned on its side.
One lane is closed due to recovery work on the A31 Westbound, between A338 Salisbury Road and Eastfield Lane.
UPDATE: When the A31 will close this evening to recover overturned HGV
AA sensors show that traffic is able to pass the scene after a short closure, but one of the two lanes is closed.
Traffic as of 4:34PM, from AA Traffic News.
Hampshire Roads Policing Unit has reported that this requires "extensive recovery", asking the public to make "alternative arrangements to travel home".
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 1.36pm today to reports of a lorry colliding with a bridge on the westbound carriageway of the A31 at Ringwood, prior to the A338, causing it to overturn.
"No injuries have been reported to us.
"The second lane of the westbound carriageway remains open at this time.
"The carriageway will need to be closed to recover the vehicle, so drivers are urged to avoid the route ahead of rush hour."
