FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a fire through the night involving a grain dryer.
Crews from Tisbury, Mere, Shaftesbury and Salisbury were sent to the incident in Berwick St Leonard at 10.19pm yesterday evening (Monday November 16).
After firefighters arrived a water carrier was requested followed by a heavy rescue unit.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews have been working all night – they first gained entry to the dryer using small tools and a disc cutter before removing the remaining grain and dampening down."
The fire service said the last update at 9am this morning suggested the fire was "mostly extinguished".
Fire crews from Blandford and Bradford on Avon were still in attendance and continuing to monitor and dampen down the scene.
One crew is now still at the scene.
