The Wiltshire College salons and restaurants are reopening to the public after being closed due to Covid-19.
Wiltshire College and University Centre’s student-run facilities are reopening this month.
The college’s Salisbury campus, on Southampton Road, is home to The Wessex Restaurant and The Aspire Academy of Hair & Beauty.
These are run by college students under the guidance of highly-trained professionals, to train students for future careers.
The facilities have been largely closed to the public for the last two academic years.
Staff at the college say that bookings at their salons or restaurants will support the future of industries that have been badly affected during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Wessex Restaurant will reopen on Tuesday, November 16, running a weekly lunch service from noon to 1pm every Tuesday, offering a freshly-prepared three-course meal for £12.
The Aspire Academy of Hair and Beauty, which reopened on Monday (November 1), is open to the public from Monday to Friday, and offers a variety of hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy services without the salon prices.
Steve Lloyd, Deputy Head of Department for Hospitality at the College, said: "We are delighted to be reopening The Wessex Restaurant at our Salisbury campus.
"The site was extremely popular with local residents prior to having to close its doors due to the pandemic but we look forward to welcoming our customers back in the coming weeks.
"Being able to cook food to order for paying customers is a key aspect of students’ development and will best prepare them to start their careers in the industry.
"All of our menu items are, where possible, locally sourced and made from fresh ingredients, including produce from the College’s Lackham campus."
Chloe Paxton, Deputy Head of Department for Hair and Beauty at the College, added: "Our students are really looking forward to being able to welcome customers back into our salon in Salisbury. It is a part of their education that they all truly enjoy.
"The Aspire Academy of Hair & Beauty offers a wide range of hair and beauty treatments.
"They really are the perfect place to have a lovely pampering session without the fees usually associated with salons.
"Any bookings at either our salons or restaurants is a great way to support the future of industries which have been badly affected during the pandemic."
