A MAN in his 60s was fined £700 following a racially aggravated offence in Salisbury.
Andrew William Aitken pleaded guilty to using abusive or threatening behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress.
The offence, found to be racially aggravated, took place in Salisbury on September 5 last year.
Heard by Salisbury Magistrates' Court on September 16 of this year, the 61-year-old changed his plea, after previously pleading not guilty.
The court heard Aitken had a taser in his possession on September 5, 2020, but this count was dismissed as no evidence was offered.
Aitken, of Timor Close, Basingstoke, was fined £700 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £70 and costs of £200.
