"AN ABSOLUTE pleasure" was how a Salisbury bus driver was described by his colleagues, after being celebrated with two major awards.

This week Salisbury Reds driver Robert Ochwat was named employee of the year by his operator, as well as placing second in parent company Go South Coast’s version of the competition.

Robert received the accolade from Salisbury Reds for "building his reputation as an exceptionally good bus driver", as well as "his friendly attitude and infectious smile".

Describing Robert as "an under the radar hero", Salisbury Reds managing director Andrew Wickham said: “Robert joined us five years ago and he demonstrates the highest standards of professionalism every day."

He added: “Nothing seems to faze him and, never one to make a fuss, nothing is too much trouble. An absolute pleasure to work with and a true ambassador for Salisbury Reds.

"Robert demonstrates the very highest standards, day in, day out, to both our passengers in Salisbury and previously on our National Express route to London.

“Congratulations Robert - I wish you a successful and enjoyable year ahead.”

In recognition of his efforts Robert received £2,500 worth of vouchers and a framed certificate.
