Heavy rain is expected this evening in Salisbury according to the latest weather warning.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for the whole of South England by the Met Office.
According to the Met Office, there is a 90% chance Salisbury residents will experience heavy rain from 8pm tonight until around 1am on Thursday.
If you are planning on travelling this evening or early tomorrow morning, pay particular attention to the weather forecast and flood warnings in certain areas.
A met office yellow warning means that:
-
Bus and train services will probably be affected with journey times taking longer
-
Spray and flooding on roads will probably make journey times longer
-
Some interruption to power supplies and other services is likely
-
Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
The Met Office forecast for this evening says: "A wet evening as a band of heavy rain moves eastwards, accompanied by strong winds.
"The rain will clear by midnight, but further rain arrives from the north by dawn. Minimum temperature 8 °C."
From Thursday mid-morning the forecast looks much more positive, the Met Office predicting: "A cloudy and damp start, but skies quickly brightening, leaving many with a dry and sunny day with a few showers in the west.
"Feeling much colder than of late. Maximum temperature 13 °C."
"Friday will be largely dry but again feeling rather cold. It then turns milder as we head into the weekend, with bands of rain accompanied by stronger winds moving in."
This forecast was last updated at 4pm on October 20th.
