A DRUG driver who was found to have 18.7 times the legal limit of MDMA in his system has been banned from the roads for one year.
On March 27 officers stopped a Vauxhall Insignia on the A360 between Shrewton and Tilshead due to the smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle.
When they spoke to the driver Joseph Browne, 21, of Station Road, Royal Wootton Bassett, they believed he was under the influence of drugs so conducted a roadside drugs test.
This came back positive so he was arrested and taken to police custody, where a sample of his blood was taken for analysis.
This showed that Browne’s blood contained 18.7 times the legal amount on MDMA and 3.5 times the legal limit for cannabis.
Browne appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court last Friday (September 24) and pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving.
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £200, as well as additional surcharges and costs.
