HERE'S your chance to put your knowledge to the test in Salisbury's "biggest ever" pub quiz.
The quiz, which is in aid of Salisbury Hospice Charity, takes place on Sunday October 3 and starts at 7.30pm.
It is being organised by husband and wife team, Andy and Hannah Munns as a continuation of the virtual pub quizzes that they ran during lockdown in support of local charities.
From virtual quizzes to big quiz
They joked at the time that they would like to organise a really big pub quiz once things were back to normal and it is now happening.
Andy said: ‘It was great fun hosting the online quizzes from our kitchen. We only really expected our friends and family to play but the first quiz had over 800 participants and we had lots of fun doing it, so ended up hosting ten.
"We raised money for some great local charities including Salisbury Hospice Charity and in total, we raised over £1500. We joked that we would like to do a real pub quiz and make it as big as possible, so this event feels like a natural evolution of that."
Venues
These are the nine venues taking part:
The Pheasant Inn, Salt Lane
Deacons Arms, Fisherton Street
Devizes Inn, Devizes Road
Royal George, Bedwin Street
The Winchester Gate, Rampart Road
Horse and Groom, Wilton Road
Bell & Crown, Catherine Street
Salisbury FC in the Blue Bee Bar, The Raymond McEnhill Stadium (Old Sarum)
The Village Freehouse, Wilton Road
Andy added: “It’s really exciting to get things moving with the quiz. The questions are written, the answers checked and it’s brilliant to have so many venues supporting the event too.
"Hopefully, we can fill all of the venues with people ready for a fun evening of quizzing and we can’t wait to deliver the cash prize and trophy to the winning team and venue."
Cash prize
The winning team will receive a £250 cash prize.
Sponsorship support
Sponsorship from All The Sevens Taxi’s means that every penny of the entry fees will go to the charity.
Louise Compton, of Salisbury Hospice Charity, said: “We are so grateful to Gary and the team at All the Sevens for kindly sponsoring this event, ensuring we can raise as much as possible for Salisbury Hospice.”
