SALISBURY band Echoes feature in the packed line-up for the mayor making celebrations this month.
The event takes place on Sunday August 22 in the Market Place.
Earlier in the year, the election of the new councillors and the new mayor, Cllr Caroline Corbin was announced.
Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions an event to mark this was unable to happen.
Civic procession
On the day, a civic procession of visiting mayors and invited guests will leave the Guildhall in procession via Fish Row, Butchers Row, Minster Street and into St Thomas’s Church at around 10.15am with a fanfare played by the Salisbury City Band of the Royal British Legion.
The civic party will then make its way from St Thomas’s Church to the Guildhall for a private reception.
Live music stage
To conclude the celebration, Salisbury City Council has teamed up with Colin Holton, the organiser of events such as Salisbury Live, to host a variety of performances and live music in the Market Place from 1.30pm until 9pm.
The line-up includes:
- Salisbury City Band of the Royal British Legion 1.30pm-2pm
- Luke Futcher 2.10pm-2.40pm
- Elevate Dance 2.40pm-3pm
- George Agombar 3pm-3.40pm
- Kings of Lounge 4pm-4.40pm
- Echoes 5pm-5.40pm
- Westville Rock 6pm-6.40pm
- Evolution Choir 7pm-7.40pm
- Glasshouse 8pm-9pm
Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Corbin, said: “Despite having to delay this year’s Mayor Making, I am delighted to be able to invite all residents to join me in celebrating my Mayoral year, and with it the opportunity to host something different to previous years with an exciting music event. Do come down to Salisbury Market Place and enjoy live music from local bands from 1.30pm.”
