FOUR people were brought to safety after a fire spread through a Salisbury block of flats last night.
Following the three-hour blaze in Blackfriars Way an investigation into the fire has been launched.
*UPDATE (4.30pm July 25): Wiltshire Police has revealed the fire is suspected to be arson*
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 10pm on July 25 following reports of a fire in the stairwell of a block of flats.
The blaze then spread to the first floor and affected three of the flats.
Four people were brought to safety, including one before crews were on the scene and one by firefighters using a ladder.
Four fire crews attended, two from Salisbury, one from Amesbury and one from Fordingbridge, and four breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
The final crew left the scene at around 1am.
A fire investigation is now taking place in connection with Wiltshire Police.
