AT the end of a night out in Salisbury a man was punched in the face as part of a racially aggravated assault, causing two black eyes and a painful jaw.

A month on from the attack, police are on the hunt for any further information and witnesses.

The attack was around 1am on June 13, when a man was approached by a group of men outside Chick-o-Land and was subjected to a barrage of abuse.

A bystander tried to intervene, who was then punched in the face a number of times leaving him with two black eyes and a painful jaw.

"Shocked" by the "unprovoked nature and horrific racial slur that was used", PC Megan Peroni from the Salisbury Response Team said: “We’ve worked tirelessly to try and find the people responsible and we’re asking the public for their to help to bring these people to justice.

“Whilst I’m aware that it happened some time ago, even the smallest piece of information could help us find whoever did this.

“If you know anything, please get in touch.”

If you have any information which could help the police investigation, you can contact the force on 101 quoting reference number 54210057309.
