SOME of the cases heard at Salisbury Magistrates' Court:
JACOB EDWARD HAND, aged 38, of Milton Road, Salisbury, was found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating in Salisbury on June 10 and July 30 last year. Hand was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £620 and a restraining order is currently in place. The defendant must attend activities and appointments as instructed by an officer, and was ordered to complete 40 hours of unpaid work.
LIAM MATHEW BATTEN, aged 26, of Berkshire Road, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On September 1 last year Batten was driving a Chevrolet along Wilton Road in Salisbury with 115 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £85 and was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 26 months. He must carry out 60 hours of unpaid work.
JAKE HARRIS, aged 27, of Tempest Road, Amesbury, was guilty of driving a Vauxhall Vivaro along Stockport Avenue in Amesbury without the appropriate policy of insurance or licence on August 9 last year. This case was reopened on April 28 following a sentencing on December 17, 2020. Harris was fined a total of £880 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £88 and costs of £90. He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months.
ADRIAN DAVID HORNE, aged 57, of Carden Avenue, Brighton, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit in Salisbury. On January 18 Horne was driving a Skoda along the A338 with 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £301 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months.
HOLLY DIANE COOPER, aged 26, of Jones Lane, Tidworth, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa while disqualified from driving and without the appropriate policy of insurance. Both incidents were recorded on December 12 last year. Cooper was fined £250 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. She was disqualified from holding a driving licence for a further six months.
