A BIKE was nearly stolen in Salisbury last week, before a business owner intervened and the suspect ran away.

Now Wiltshire Police officers are urging anyone who witnessed or filmed the attempted theft to come forward.

The incident took place outside Brewers Decorating Centre on Bourne Way at around 12.30pm on Thursday, June 24.

A man wearing a blue Adidas tracksuit top with a hood up and mask on attempted to steal a bicycle from outside the store using bolt cutters.

The owner confronted the man and was helped by another member of the public to keep hold of the bicycle before the suspect ran off.
