A number of shoplifters from Salisbury have been fined in court in the past six months.

Below are five people recently sentenced for stealing items from various shops.

Jonathon Randall

On January 15, Randall, 38, of The Valley, stole four tubs of baby milk and a box of chocolates worth £38.50 from Tesco Express in Westbury.

A week later, on January 22, Randall returned to the store and took four boxes of Ariel washing capsules, to the value of £17.60, without paying.

When he appeared in court, he was ordered to pay £53.10 for both offences.

In March, Randall was caught shoplifting again.

This time he stole four Easter eggs worth £32 from Tesco in Warminster on March 24.

He was ordered to pay £32 in compensation.

Samuel Lake

On November 23 last year, Lake, 25, of Neville Close, stole Pringles, two pot noodles, a tin of gin and a two-litre carton of milk to the value of £6.79 from Tesco.

He was ordered to pay a fine of £84 and a £34 surcharge.

Edgar Lewis

Lewis, 57, of Russell Road, was fined a total of £197 for stealing four bottles of Courvoisier and fabric conditioner from a Tesco store in Staffordshire.

The theft dates back to March 13, 2019.

The items were valued at £145.

Maxwell Pugsley

Pugsley, 49, of Fisherton Street, committed a string of shoplifting offences in the past two years.

On one occasion, on November 23, 2019, he stole alcohol and children's toys worth £376.99 from Tesco in Amesbury.

On April 19, Pugsley was jailed for 20 weeks, banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £235 in costs.

Mark Parker

Parker, 24, of Cherry Close, stole £5 worth of alcohol from Tesco in Salisbury on December 15 last year.

When he appeared before magistrates in January, he also pleaded guilty to five charges of criminal damage, assault by beating, sending a letter / communication / article conveying a threatening message.

He was given a community order and ordered to pay a total of £180.
