A MAN is due to appear in court again next week, after a pregnant woman was assaulted and taken to hospital.
The victim, who was 29-weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged attack, had suffered a head injury, and it was later discovered that her baby had died within the womb.
The incident took place in the area of Addison Close, Gillingham, on May 30 last year.
Following enquiries by Dorset Police, a 34-year-old local man was arrested.
He was issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on February 26, for offences of child destruction and intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm.
He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, March 12.
