A 16-YEAR-OLD girl was the victim of a sexual assault offence while walking her dog.

At around 12.30pm on February 23, the victim was walking her dog along the North Dorset Trailway between Blandford and Stourpaine when a man made conversation as he walked past.

The man allegedly made sexual comments and touched the girl inappropriately.

Following Dorset Police's image appeal earlier today, a man has come forward and is assisting officers with their investigation.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
