A MAN was rescued from a first floor flat after seven fires engines were called in the early hours of this morning.
Smoke was seen coming from the window of the flat in Friars Moor in Sturminster Newton, just after 12.30am, February 11.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said six sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a main line were used to tackle the fire.
The spokesperson added: "Positive pressure ventilation was then used to clear the smoke. The crews who attended initially requested assistance so this incident ended up with seven fire engines and an aerial ladder platform."
