A GYM inside the spinal centre at Salisbury District Hospital is being prepared for bed space as the "severe impact" of the pandemic continues to take its toll.
A statement from the hospital also confirmed that the Day Surgery Unit is being used as ward space.
It comes as Newsnight cameras revealed the "the relentless influx of patients" last week, with staff "stretched to their absolute limits".

The statement said the changes were to "plan for all eventualities".
It said: “In order to continue to provide care for those suffering the severe impact of COVID-19 infection and those with other critical conditions, we are having to make changes to the way the hospital works and how we use all available space.
"To that end we have started to use areas for different purposes meaning that our Day Surgery Unit is now being used as a ward space.
"In addition, to plan for all eventualities the gym at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Centre is being prepared to be used for further bed space if needed.“
