The Covid-19 death toll at Salisbury District Hospital has increased again, with another five patients confirmed to have died after contracting the disease.
The total number of coronavirus deaths since the pandemic began last year has now reached 141 at the hospital alone.
In a statement today (Saturday, January 23) the hospital said four men and a woman had become the latest victims of the virus.
All of the new deaths were in people who had underlying health conditions.
They all took place on Friday, January 22.
The hospital sent its sympathies to the families of those who had died at this “very difficult and distressing time”.

Salisbury District Hospital statement in full
The hospital said:
“Sadly, we can confirm that another five patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Four men and a woman.
“Two men were in their 70s, one in his 90s and one in his 80s.
“The woman was in her 80s. They all died on January 22 2021.
“All patients had underlying health conditions.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the all the patients’ families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
“The total number of patients that have died at Salisbury District Hospital after receiving a COVID-19 positive test result is now 141.”
