ANOTHER eight patients have died at Salisbury District Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.
Five men and two women died on January 16 and one died on January 15.
Four of the men were in their 80s and two were in their 70s. The two women were in their 80s and 90s. All of them had underlying health problems.
This is the highest number in any reporting period.
A spokesperson for the hospital said: “Sadly, we can confirm that a further eight patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for Covid-19 have died.
"Five men and two women died on 16th January and 1 man died on 15th January.
"Four of the men were in their 80s and two were in their 70s. One women was in her 80s and another in her 90s. All had underlying health conditions.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with all the patients families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.”
The total number of patients that have died at Salisbury District Hospital after receiving a Covid-19 positive test result is now 117.
