A CIVIL servant from Tidworth has won a £43,000 car just days after his old one broke down.
Jo Bainivalu is now the new owner of a new Cupra Ateca after winning BOTB’s midweek car competition.
The 44-year-old, was in the middle of looking for a new car after his old Renault Grand Scenic broke down when BOTB’s Christian Williams turned up at his door to announce the good news.
“It’s absolutely perfect timing,” said Jo. “My car just broke down and I needed to get a new one this week.
“I just can’t believe it.”
The father-of-four paid just £2 for his ticket to enter BOTB’s midweek car competition.
“I really like the Cupra Ateca - it’s a perfect car for me and my family,” added Jo. “I can’t wait to take it for a spin.”
Since being founded in 1999 by William Hindmarch, BOTB has given away more than £34m worth of prizes, including supercars, cash and holidays.
But the surprise was not over for Jo as Christian opened the boot revealing £10,000 in cash.
“Oh wow - I’m totally lost for words," said Jo.
“I’ve been playing BOTB for a while and I see all of the winner’s videos - I can’t believe this week it’s me.”
BOTB’s Christian, who surprises winners every week, says he was thrilled to give Jo the good news, adding: “It’s safe to say that Jo was completely speechless when we turned up. But the win couldn’t have been at a better time for him as his old car had only just broken down. I hope he has a lot of fun driving it. Congratulations again, Jo.”
