ONE of Europe’s most in demand dance companies presents The Storm at Salisbury Arts Centre.
James Wilton Dance’s The Storm combines acrobatics, breakdancing, and martial arts with a soundtrack of electro-rock specially composed by Amarok and thousands of pieces of paper.
James Wilton said: “After the considerable success of Leviathan, a work based on Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, I wanted to create my own story. I have always been fascinated by the inner workings of the human mind, in particular how we process and understand emotions, and wanted to create a narrative that not only moves audiences emotionally, but encourages viewers to consider our psychologies and behaviours from all angles.”
James Wilton Dance was founded in 2010 and has amassed choreographic awards and critical acclaim nationally and internationally. Its most recent works leviathan, also performed at Salisbury Arts Centre, and Last Man Standing have accumulated over 170 performances.
The Storm is at the arts centre on Saturday, March 21. For tickets go to wiltshirecreative.co.uk or call 01722 320333.
