A round-up of cases from Salisbury Magistrates Court:

STEPHEN BEAMENT, aged 53, of Avon Meadow, Downton, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On November 30 last year he was driving a Peugeot 308 along Moot Lane in Downton, with 42 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £176 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving license for a year.

FRANK BENNETT, aged 43, of Randalls Croft Road, Wilton, was issued a warrant for arrest without bail for assaulting a police officer by beating, on June 6 last year in Wilton. On the same day he drove a Vauxhall car along Randalls Croft Road with drugs in his system which exceeded the specified limit.

JOHN HALL, aged 35, from Bishops Reach, Allington, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On November 30 last year in Amesbury he drove a Ford Transit along Boscombe Road in Amesbury, with 68 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £369 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £36 and costs of £85. He was also disqualified from holding a driving license for 17 months.

ELIZABETH HOLLINGS, aged 46, of Avon Meadow, Downton, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On November 30 last year she drove a Ford Focus along Avon Meadow, with 57 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. She was fined £226 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving license for a year.

BENJAMIN MASON, aged 29, of Ryeleaze, Potterne, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit in Allington. On December 1 last year he drove a Ford Focus along Wyndham Lane, with 63 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £363 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £36 and costs of £85. He was also disqualified from holding a driving license for 17 months.

RORY BOLTON MAYOH, aged 26, of Hillview Road, Salisbury, was issued a warrant for arrest without bail following a string of thefts. On April 2 last year he did not pay for a taxi journey in Downton totalling £41. On April 9 he stole food, champagne and clothing to the value of £209 from Marks and Spencer in Salisbury, and on April 10 he stole five bottles of whisky, to the value of £180, from Salisbury’s Waitrose.
