A HEADLESS deer with gunshot wounds to its legs and body has been found near a New Forest beauty spot.
In the morning on January 29 the deer, described as a large Fallow buck, was found on the A338 near Blashford Lake, Ringwood, with gunshot wounds across the body and legs and its head removed.
A vet who attended the scene alongside Country Watch officers said that the deer had also probably been hit by a vehicle.
Hampshire Police is not linking this animal death to any other incident, but would like to hear from anybody with further information, or anyone who saw anything suspicious in this area before Wednesday morning.
