THE results for the New Forest have been announced, and the Conservatives have retained their seat.
Sir Desmond Swayne has once again retained his seat in the New Forest West with 32,113 votes.
Although a victory for the Tories, the votes were down by 1,057 votes when compared to the 2017 election.
Sir Desmond had held his seat in the New Forest since the boundary changes resulting in the former constituencies of New Forest and Romsey and Waterside were abolished in 1997.
Sir Desmond said: "I'm feeling pretty good.
"The reality is, it would have taken a political earthquake to change the outcome of the New Forest election.
"It has been important to give time and effort to places like Southampton Itchen.
"Having such a large and capable team has allowed us to do this."
Jack Davies, Lib Dems, came second with 7,710 votes - up by 2,992 votes.
Jo Graham, Labour Party, came third with 6,595 votes - down by 3,144 votes.
Nick Bubb, Green Party, came fourth with 3,888 votes - up by 3,434 votes.
The turnout for the New Forest West was 71 per cent.
