A SALISBURY teen has made his debut as a professional footballer, aged just 16 years and 74 days.
Vaughn Covil, who also goes to Bishop Wordsworth's, appeared for Forest Green Rovers in their against Coventry City in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night (October 8).
Vaughn attended Pezzaz Street Soccer sessions in Salisbury and still regularly returns for one on one coaching.
He spent most of his early childhood playing for Amesbury Town Youth, alongside his Pezzaz individual training, before signing for the academy at Southampton FC.
Forest Green Rovers then offered Vaughn a scholarship in the summer, with the youngster soon getting promoted to the first team.
Vaughn scored in the penalty shootout in the win against Coventry City.
