THE Royal Military Police have been granted Freedom of the City
The honour was granted by Salisbury City Council on Wednesday (June 13) and was awarded to recognise the Royal Military Police's service and commitment to the city for more than 100 years.
Brigadier David Neal accepted a specially handcrafted scroll which was presented by the Mayor of Salisbury, Councillor Mike Osment in front of more than 100 guests including serving and retired military personnel, city councillors and other invited guests.
The Royal Military Police and their predecessors, the Military Mounted Police, the Military Foot Police and the Corps of Military Police, have been stationed in the Salisbury area for more than100 years.
