A FAMILY run business providing affordable furniture has opened in the old council offices on Milford Street.
Town and Country Furniture opened on April 8, aiming to provide “furniture that’s priced for the public”.
The store is managed by Moe Marsh of Amesbury. She said: “We felt that Salisbury had a need for a furniture shop that’s priced with regular people in mind”.
The shop sells sofas, armchairs, living room suites, and bedroom furniture, typically priced at up to £500. The opening weekend saw sofas sold at £200 and armchairs at £100, and Moe said “people were waiting outside the doors for opening time”.
She said: “The customers are amazed by the affordability. ”.
The sofas are mostly Englishmade, including sofas made of hand-stitched leather.
Town and Country will do deliveries, and offer a charity service, where furniture that they remove when delivering are then taken to the British Heart Foundation if customers wish.
