A REVIEW of out-of-hours telephone numbers for Wiltshire Council services is to be undertaken.
Wiltshire Council leader Jane Scott said one of the aims is to ensure as many 0845 numbers as possible are replaced with lower rate numbers beginning with 0300.
The question was raised at Tuesday's council budget meeting by Cllr Jon Hubbard.
Cllr Scott said the only 0845 number in regular use is the Emergency Duty Service number, which is for outside normal working hours.
However, if customers call the council's main number outside normal hours and are diverted to an 0845 number, they are charged at the local rate.
Numbers with 0845 prefixes include the parking payments line and property services.
