SARUM Academy welcomed a group of five Bath Spa student teachers this month to help support Year 5 pupils from local primary schools with the transition to secondary school.
Bath Spa University is one of the sponsors of Sarum Academy and it is through this link the university PGCE students were invited to help with the running of the day.
Each student teacher was assigned to a group of primary school children and stayed with them throughout the day supporting their learning in maths, art and PE activities.
The trainees were the children’s first point of contact at Sarum Academy and helped to provide a friendly, supportive environment for the children to experience.
