BEMERTON Heath Residents Association is raising its profile.

At our last meeting the chairman, Stan Spreadbury, raised the need to reach out to younger members of the community. Members felt that people were unaware of the issues being raised and the fact that there is a fantastic forum where all local residents can come and voice their opinions on any topics from housing issues to new developments, upkeep of parks to the organising of local events.

If it happens locally or if it is something you would like to see happen then please get involved.

Tom Corbin commented that there is a really active community at Bemerton Heath and Fugglestone Red and we want to make sure we reach out to as many people across the community as possible.

Meetings are regularly attended by local councillors, Wiltshire Council housing officers and members of the police and of course all the people attending bring their own skills and knowledge so chances are if you have a query you will find somebody has the answer.

Upcoming events include An Easter egg hunt on Easter Monday at 11am and plans are being created for a week of celebration with lots of events taking place in July to coincide with the planned completion of the new Sarum Academy school building.

Meetings are held in the smart facilities of the Bemerton Heath Neighbourhood Centre in Pinewood Way (bemerton heathnc.org.uk and Bemerton Heath Centre on Facebook).

The next meeting is at 7pm on Wednesday, April 3.

Caroline Corbin has taken on the task of setting up and running both facebook and Twitter accounts.
