POLICE are trying to trace a man who attempted to sexually assault a woman in Tidworth last Tuesday.
The 23-year-old local woman was walking along Wylye Road just after midnight on Monday when a man grabbed her and pushed her into a wall before attempting to sexually assault her.
She was able to get away and ran off through a nearby park. The man is described as about 5ft 9ins and wearing a grey hoody, dark coloured tracksuits and white soled shoes.
DS Jim Stannard of Wiltshire Police said: “We are keen to identify anyone who witnessed the incident and speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault. It may be that they didn’t see the assault but heard something or saw the man running from the scene.
“Incidents such as this are rare in Tidworth but we need the assistance of the public to help identify this man and potentially prevent any further incidents.”
