THERE are more than just eggs to crack this Easter as Old Sarum and Old Wardour Castle host their traditional family fun trails. Visitors to Old Wardour Castle are invited to tour the grounds in search of missing wooden Easter eggs, decipher the mystery word and claim their chocolate rewards.
Egg-hunters will need to answer a series of fun history questions about the castle to complete the trail and claim their prize. Nature lovers will be in their element at Old Sarum, where there is a trail looking for insects and birds that live in the grounds.
There is also an Easter egg trail for younger children and a mask-making workshop over the bank holiday weekend when children can make a magical disguise to take away.
Naomi Matthews, English Heritage property manager at Old Sarum, said: “Our Easter family fun trails are always really popular with families, as it’s a great chance for everyone to get outdoors in the spring fresh air and engage in a little bit of light-hearted competition.”
The trails at Old Wardour Castle and Old Sarum take place from March 23 to April 7.
