YOUNG carers from the Forest are benefiting from a partnership between Community First New Forest and the Forest Arts Centre in New Milton.
Youngsters aged seven to 17 tried street dance, drama and jewellery making before performing for their families over half-term.
One mum said: “It was lovely to see my daughter relaxed and enjoying herself.
“I couldn’t believe how confident and happy she looked while she was dancing.”
Young carers coordinator Marie Shotbolt said: “We rely on partnerships like this or donations from community groups to allow us to put on activities.
“It makes a real difference to our young carers to get the chance to meet other young people who understand what they’re going through and have fun at the same time.”
