THREE members of former pop group S Club 7 are reuniting to play at a village church's festival in the Forest.

Alderholt’s reCreate Festival was launched just last year and has managed to secure the pop stars for its second year, along with a multi-award winning theatre show and a host of other attractions.

The reunited S Club 3 features Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole, who will be supported by Olly Murs tribute act Joe Trippier.

The festival also features a zumba class, Alderholt’s biggest-ever quiz night and children’s workshops, running from April 3-7.

All the entertainment will be held in a heated marquee at the|recreation ground, with the theme Community of Hope.

The festival is organised by St James’s Parish Church.

Vicar Pip Martin said: “The reCreate Festival is partly about some amazing events, but it’s even more about enabling people to rediscover (or recreate) a sense of fun, a sense of belonging and a sense of wonder.

“We want people to say: ‘Wow, Alderholt may not be famous but it is special, and please can we take some of that home with us?’”

Children’s workshops for Alderholt children will be held on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings – pre-booking is essential.

A café will run each afternoon and throughout Saturday, with craft activities open to all children and occasional other free entertainments.

There are four evenings of entertainment, with tickets costing from £2 for the quiz to £10 for S Club 3 on the Friday night.

On the Saturday, Seven Ages by Kepow! is a one-man (Kevin Tomlinson) improvisational show that “will make you laugh and make you think”.

It premiered at the Edinburgh Festival, where it sold out and received five-star reviews. It’s promised to be very funny, but not rude or offensive and is semi-improvised, so each show is unique, with the audience playing a key part but without ever making individuals embarrassed.

Tickets are £6 and £4 for children (any age over six years will enjoy it). In addition, Kevin is leading an improvisation and theatre workshop in the afternoon, costing £3, ||with a maximum of 30 taking part.

On the Sunday the festival concludes with a celebration service in the marquee at 11am.

There is a barbecue to follow, and live music with up-and-coming Bournemouth folk trio Willowen.
