MERE School football team is riding high after success in two recent tournaments.
The Mere team won the annual Gillingham Family Football Tournament for the second year in a row, beating each of the other eight teams during an afternoon football festival.
The final against St George’s Primary School, Bourton, was closely fought, but won with an outstanding goal from the Mere team.
Rosie Thompson, Gillingham School sports co-ordinator, said: “The quality of the football in the family gets better year on year; a big thank you to Mere Town FC for sponsoring the event and Mere Parish Council for providing the facilities on the day.”
Mere School football team has also won a place at the final of the Davison Trophy on March 19.
