A GROUP for Salisbury-based mothers has organised a charity Make a Cake event to celebrate its first birthday.

Truly Scrumptious was set up on Facebook by former headteacher Carol Kite and her daughter Helen Parker.

The group, which has nearly 2,000 members and five administrators who donate their time for free, helps mothers to buy and sell clothing and equipment for the under 10s while providing a social network with top tips and advice.

Members were invited to make cakes of any kind to be sold on the page to raise money for Bliss, a charity which provides support and care to premature babies. Truly Scrumptious also holds regular pop-up shops in the city centre and there next one will be on Saturday at the United Reformed Church from 10am to noon.

There will be a charity table at the event where all profits will be donated to Bliss. For more information, search Facebook for Truly Scrumptious – Salisbury: Bargains for Bump, Baby and Beyond.
