BEARS, aliens, pirates and Mr Bump were all part of Mere Primary School’s book day last Thursday.
Each class voted for a book to celebrate on World Book Day and staff and pupils went to school dressed up as book characters.
Pupil Jett Hayes said: “It’s like our school is a library and the books have come alive.”
Amid all the excitement, rehearsals took place for the school’s annual musical entertainment evening, which is a chance for students to show off their skills to an audience of friends and family.
The children put on a great show with drummers, guitarists, and recorder, trumpet, clarinet and piano players, rounded off with a lively performance of I’m a Believer from the school choir.
