MOORS Valley Country Park and Forest is appealing for everyone who has used the Park since it first opened to send them their photographs.

They will be used to compile a social history of the park since it opened 25 years ago. The rangers have already uploaded some images to the Flickr website, showing the development of the site and a selection of events from the early 1990s.

These include opening ceremonies with local dignitaries and Esther Rantzen. The images will be made available for everyone to see online and a selection will also be chosen for inclusion on 25 history interpretation panels that will be placed around Moors Valley – now the third most visited country park in England.

Countryside Interpretation Ranger Katie Davies said: “Moors Valley means so many different things to so many people. We need your memories to help us mark our 25th birthday.

“It will be a marvellous way to see how the park has developed and will help us record park life for future generations.”
