A TEACHING assistant from Ringwood is in the running for a top award.
Claire Waine, who works at Ringwood School, is one of just two TAs in the final for the Teaching Assistant of the Year award at the Pearson Teaching Awards.
The parent who nominated her wrote: “Claire Waine has been our daughter’s key worker and supported her for many years.
“Mrs Waine and Ringwood School have resulted in our daughter achieving goals we never thought possible.
“The time, enthusiasm and encouragement given by Mrs Waine to our daughter is very much appreciated.”
A spokesman for the school said: “Claire does not simply do her job, she lives it. Among a wide team of dedicated practitioners, and appreciative parents, Claire is recognised by all as one of a kind.”
Results will be announced by the Pearson Teaching Awards on Thank a Teacher Day, on May 17.
