THE annual meeting of Amesbury Town Band took place on February 21 at the Bowman Centre in Boscombe Down.
It was well-attended by members and friends.
Chairman Brian Carter said it had been a good year with enjoyable engagements.
Some members had left but there had been several new ones and the main thing was to enjoy making music.
Secretary Ray Brotherton said the number of engagements had been lower this year, probably because of the general situation.
The treasurer, Sandra King, read the financial report and said that, while the situation was generally healthy, there had been a slight overspend, largely due to the purchase of new music and a social occasion.
Helen Palmer, in charge of the junior band, gave a report on the learners.
Three had left to join the main band and two families had moved away.
There had been successes in the music exams taken by most of the pupils and there are adult learners as well as the children.
She thanked all those band members and friends who had helped with the children.
Musical director Clive Burroughs said the band had worked well over the past year and that some of the music had been challenging.
The engagements had been generally well attended, but more support was needed.
The plans for the Italian Trip to Casselbutano in August are under way.
New players are always welcome at the Nicholson Centre, Boscombe Down, on Wednesdays at 7.30pm.
