WORK to widen the footway on the southern side of Church Street, Amesbury will start next month after safety concerns were raised by Amesbury Town Council and local residents.

The work is expected to start on April 8 and last for three weeks, with temporary two way signals controlling traffic for the first week, and a road closure between the hours of 8am and 4pm during the second week, with a diversion route via Woodford Valley.

New kerbing and a footway will be laid.

Plans of the scheme are available on request by emailing Wiltshire Council at transportation@wiltshire.gov.uk.
